Hey, A&E, We’ve Got Some Replacements For Phil Robertson!

December 19, 2013 8:38 pm 4 comments

Well, as all of you (who haven’t been living underneath a rock for the last 24 hours) have heard, the A&E network has fired Phil Robertson for the things he said in an interview in Gentlemen’s Quarterly magazine.

Phil merely stated his convictions as a Christian, daring to quote what Scripture says in 1 Corinthians chapter 6, verses 9 and 10: “9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals,[a] nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.”

What happened with all the tolerance (pronounced “tawwwww….lerance” as Chris Baker used to say) of the Left?  What happened with freedom of speech?

Phil Robertson did not attack an individual;  he simply shared his convictions, based upon his religious beliefs, beliefs which have proven valid for the last 2000 years.  He has an amazing story of how God changed his life and I heartily recommend hearing it before casting judgment on him.

His Biblical convictions sound very similar to the pro-family plank of the Republican Party, as documented in the platform of the Republican Party of Texas.  As Republicans, have traditionally stood up for the sanctity of life and the sanctity of marriage, being between a natural man and a natural woman, this nuclear family has been the foundation of all successful cultures since Adam and Eve.

Those of us who follow the Judeo-Christian beliefs as documented in the Bible have come to place their faith in the wisdom and guidance of “the good book”.  Now there are those who would like to forget parts of Scripture;  e.g. to emphasize Gods love and ignore God’s judgment, but Scripture calls those individuals fools.

So, Phil Robertson dared to speak out what he believes to be true, and he gets fired for speaking this truth.  He knew that A&E was proud of their support for the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender crowd.  He know that he was bucking a Hollywood culture that had no “tawwwww….lerance” for hearing Scriptural truth proclaimed.  All he needed to do to continue to rake in riches was to just keep his mouth shut;  to just go along with those that hate Christ and for what the Bible stands .

I suspect that the folks at A&E have begun to realize they have woken up a sleeping giant.  Just as the homosexual lobby attempted to attack Chick- Fil-A last year, and the public overwhelmingly responded positively in support of the restaurant, hundreds of thousands of people are making their anger known to the A&E executives, advertisers, and  the world via social media.

I’m proud of Phil for having the courage to state his convictions in the face of the Gay lobby and pop culture.  Phil’s actions reminded me of a Houstonian Jared Woodfill, who, this week, stood up for Republican and Texas constitutional values against an illegal fiat given by the mayor of Houston, Annise Parker.  The mayor decided that she was going to proclaim that Houston would provide benefits to those partners of same sex marriage, whose marriages were recognized in other states.  This was in direct opposition to Texas law, and chairman Woodfill called her on it.  Just like Phil Robertson, Jared Woodfill stood up for Texas conservative values, and as such I’m sure that the folks at A&E are displeased.

So it’s the Christmas season.  How can we help out the executives at A&E?  In Houston, we have a couple of folks that would fit right in with the values and lack of convictions portrayed by the A&E network.

Two that come to mind are Sarah Davis, and Paul Simpson.  Sarah Davis, because she calls herself a Republican, but refuses to stand up for the pro-life position dear to most true Republicans.  While she may be popular with the A&E crowd, she will never convince me that she is a true Republican, because she opposes pro-life legislation in her support of abortion on demand.  She has turned her back time after time on the innocent lives that seeking protection from those in leadership, and has failed to live up to her Republican name .

Another great candidate for A&E is Paul Simpson, whose blatant pandering to the Libertarians and the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender lobby has demonstrated time after time that he will not uphold the values so cherished in the Republican Party platform.  In his desperate quest for power, he has shown, election season after election season, that he is willing to destroy the Party to wrest control from conservatives.  He has failed to stand up for our convictions in the past, and his current attempt at “dividing and conquering” illustrates that he is not fit to lead the largest group of Republicans in the United States.

So, who knows, we may see some of our locals in “Duck Dynasty” down the line, as they try to convince the moderate and liberal Republican “ducks” that their “Duck call” is genuine.  I won’t come anywhere near them, and I advise the same for you!

  • Seriously???? You supposed Republicans who are trashing conservatives in this state because they don’t agree with you 100 percent honestly make me sick. Sarah Davis is absolutely, undeniably a conservative. And so is Paul Simpson. Your use of religion to promote your own personal agenda and personal gain is a SIN! You got that? Maybe you should read the bible a little more.

    • Many claim to be Christian conservitve Republicans but it everyone who says they are really are… Paul and Sarah are pro-choice and proudly support the homosexual agenda.. So the fact is That they fit what A&E is looking for.. so let them go there with those to whom they share so much.

      • Mr. Kneer,
You claim you are a “Christian conservative” yet you violate the Ten Commandments, and other teachings of Bible, all within two or three sentences of your false comments about my wife. My wife, State Representative Sarah Davis, is a rock-ribbed Conservative Republican, who does not “promote abortion” or the “homosexual” lifestyle, as you so ridiculously suggest. You knew that was a lie when you said it. She is guilty however of not hating people for no reason other than the fact that she doesn’t like them, something that certainly does not seem to inhibit you, despite Jesus’ teachings otherwise. Incidentally, when is the last time you read “the golden rule?” Likewise the author of the original blog was lying when he said my wife supports “abortion on-demand.” She does not. Doesn’t the Ten Commandments have something to say about lying or “bearing false witness?” Perhaps you should check out the “beam in your own eye before you talk about the speck in someone else’s eye.” On top of all that, you and your colleague, the writer of the original column, flagrantly violated Pres. Ronald Reagan’s 11th commandment against criticizing fellow Republicans.
By the way, when did God appoint you the judge of other people’s religious purity? I’d love to see a copy of the document forwarded to you by God granting you those duties. I assume God must have contemporaneously exempted you from Matthew’s admonition against judging others, lest you be judged, when he appointed you to your exaulted position.
Hypocrites like you are driving people from religion, and also from the Republican Party. By the way, the Republican Party is a secular party, not a religious party, and it would be useful, and probably helpful for the future of our party, and it’s long-term goal of protecting freedom from the Democrats’ onward march towards socialism, if we’d learn to do our preaching in church, and instead discuss political ideology in the Republican Party.
Finally, since you proclaim yourself a Christian, perhaps you should think about spreading a little more love, and a little less hate. Something to think about and pray on.
        Kent Adams

Trump Wins! Harris County Republicans Suffer Biggest Loss in History of the HCRP

Last night’s presidential results were historic. For the first time in decades, Republicans will have a uniquely consolidated power base, controlling the White House, Senate, and House, as well as a majority of governorships. As a result, we should be able to appoint conservative justices, eliminate Obamacare, get rid of the Johnson Amendment (which censures the church), cut the national debt, open up the energy markets, protect religious liberties, and so much more. As my friends at AFA stated, “We were about to go over the cliff. The knockout punch was about to be delivered to the America that our Founding Fathers handed to us.

Now It Is Your Time And Your Turn!

Now it is your time! Do you ever see destructive things going on around you and wish you had the ability and opportunity to stop them? Like when you hear the occurrence of some tragedy, do you ever wish that you could have been in the right place at the right time, to prevent it?

On Tuesday, November 3rd, you have an opportunity to do just that. If you live in the city of Houston, you will have the opportunity to vote NO to Proposition One, the “bathroom” or H.E.R.O. ordinance.

Contrary to the proponents of this ordinance, it has nothing to do with equal rights (which are already protected under federal and state law), but everything to do with promotion of sexual deviance in our society, in an effort for us to accept yet one more assault on our common sense and decency.

I May Know A Moderate, But Do I Trust A Moderate?

If you were to order pizza for dinner tonight, but the phone attendant taking your pizza order asked you if you wanted dark meat or white meat, or crispy or regular skin, what would you think? Perhaps you had dialed the wrong number?

You might feel similarly by reading the Republican Party platform and comparing it to the words and actions of so-called “Republicans”, from Harris County to Washington D.C.

Let’s take the City of Houston mayor’s race. We have two “Republican” candidates, Stephen Costello and Bill King.

Support Lance Berkman Vote “No” on Proposition 1 Bathroom Ordinance

Six time Major League Baseball All Star, Lance Berkman, recently took a bold principled stand in opposition to Houston Proposition 1 – The Bathroom Ordinance. The liberal left and LGBT community are attacking Lance Berkman for having the courage to stand on his principles. He needs our support.

Lance Berkman is getting bashed in the sports media because he exerted his First Amendment Right of Freedom of Speech by recording a radio commercial, opposing Houston’s Proposition 1, the Bathroom Ordinance. His commercial began airing this past Thursday. The Bathroom Ordinance would allow troubled men, who claim to be women, to enter women’s bathrooms, showers and locker rooms.

Houston City Council Is Legislating Immorality To Allow Boys Into The Girls Bathrooms and Showers

For many years we have all heard from both the Right leaning Democrats and the Left leaning Republicans that we cannot “legislate morality”. While for now I will not address the stupidity of this I would like to make a few points for you to ponder.

The City of Houston is trying to legislate morality, but in there their Godless hearts they will fist attempt to re-define “morality” before they legislate it so that it to include the sexually confused and the sexually perverted.

When you go to vote during early voting and on November third, and hopefully you will vote, the first thing you will see is Proposition one, also known as the HERO or “bathroom” ordnance.
