Please immediately urge your Texas state representative to support Senate Bill 5.
Sunday will be one of the most important days in the Texas Legislature so far!
The Texas State House will meet at 2 PM, Sunday, June 23, to consider SB 5, a critically important pro-life bill. This debate will be the most important of the year. This is an unparalleled opportunity to protect women and innocent unborn babies
Immediately urge your state representative to support SB 5. Your call or email will take two minutes, but they may protect thousands of women and babies from the tragedy of abortion and save many lives.
As passed by the House State Affairs Committee, SB 5 will:
- Increase abortion facility safety standards to the level of ambulatory surgical centers to shut down Gosnell-like abortion providers in Texas,
- Require the 18,000 RU-486 abortions performed each year in Texas be done according to FDA safety standards, and
- Require physicians who perform abortions to be qualified to treat life-threatening complications after botched abortions.
- Ban abortions on unborn children beginning at 20 weeks after fertilization, when scientific evidence clearly shows babies can feel pain.
Pro-life Gov. Rick Perry called a special session of the Texas Legislature, meeting in Austin, to consider several issues including “the regulation of abortion procedures, providers and facilities.” SB 5 is an unparalleled opportunity to protect mothers and innocent unborn babies in Texas.
Debate begins at 2 PM and may last many hours, please contact your state representative to urge them to support Senate Bill 5 to increase protections for women and unborn babies at abortion facilities in Texas.
