Silent No More: Stand Up And Support Chick-fil-A!

When recently asked about his company’s support of traditional marriage, Chick-fil-A‘s president, Dan Cathy stated, “Guilty as charged.” Cathy, a devout Christian, then proclaimed, “We are very much supportive of the family – the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that.” He further stated, “We intend to stay the course. We know that it might not be popular with everyone, but thank the Lord, we live in a country where we can share our values and operate on biblical principles.”

Not surprisingly, Cathy’s comments stirred a firestorm amongst the liberal left, prompting Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (“LGBT”) activists and supporters to urge people to boycott the chicken sandwich restaurant because of Cathy’s “hateful” remarks. In response, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee has called upon the nation to come out in support of Chick-fil-A on Wednesday, August 1. Huckabee writes on his Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day facebook page, “The Cathy family, led by Chick-fil-A founder Truett Cathy, are a wonderful Christian family who are committed to operating the company with biblical principles and whose story is the true American success story. It’s a great American story that is being smeared by vicious hate speech and intolerant bigotry from the left.” Governor Huckabee then states, “The goal is simple: Let’s affirm a business that operates on Christian principles and whose executives are willing to take a stand for the Godly values we espouse by simply showing up and eating at Chick-fil-A on Wednesday, August 1.”

For Texans, the definition of marriage is clear. In 2005, an overwhelming majority of Texans, 76%, amended the Texas Constitution to define marriage as the union between a man and a woman. In Harris County, the amendment passed with over 72 percent of the vote. The text of the amendment states:

(a) Marriage in this state shall consist only of the union of one man and one woman.

(b) This state or a political subdivision of this state may not create or recognize any legal status identical or similar to marriage.

Liberal politicians have joined the Chick-fil-A boycott. District of Columbia Mayor Vincent Gray says he won’t support an expanded presence for Chick-fil-A. The Mayor went on to state his “long-standing strong support for LGBT rights and marriage equality.” Similarly, Boston’s, Chicago’s and San Francisco’s mayors issued statements saying the company was not welcome. When businesses support the left, the media and others are complimentary of their decisions. For instance, Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos recently took a position on gay marriage, donating $2.5 million to keep same-sex unions legal in Washington. Other high profile individuals have taken similar stands; Microsoft’s Bill Gates, Starbucks Inc. and Nike Inc. also contributed significant sums to the gay marriage campaign to uphold Washington’s law. While Mr. Cathy and Chick-fil-A raised the ire of the left, corporate giants like General Mills and Nabisco continue to support gay marriage initiatives. It should also be noted that Chick-fil-A’s stance on same-sex marriage doesn’t sit well with Jim Henson Co. For years, the company’s Muppet toys have been served in Chick-fil-A’s meals for children. It appears that the company transferred ownership of The Muppets’ rights to the Walt Disney Co. in 2003. The company recently issued the following statement, “The Jim Henson Company has celebrated and embraced diversity and inclusiveness for over 50 years and we have notified Chick-fil-A that we do not wish to partner with them on any future endeavors.” For the 1.7 plus million Texans who supported the Marriage Amendment, the Muppets have just labeled them intolerant and narrow minded.

Fortunately, many are coming to Chick-fil-A’s defense. This week Billy Graham issued a statement of support for the popular fast-food chain. Billy Graham praised restaurant founder S. Truett Cathy and son Don Cathy “for their strong stand for the Christian faith.” Specifically, he stated, “I’ve known their family for many years and have watched them grow Chick-fil-A into one of the best businesses in America while never compromising their values.” He is joined by former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, a 2008 GOP presidential candidate, and hundreds of other conservative leaders around the country, including Mitt Romney.

Activists on the left believe that standing against and vilifying Chick-fil-A sends a strong message to those who believe marriage is the union between a man and a woman. The purpose of the boycott and attacks is to silence anyone who would object to their liberal agenda for our country. By attacking Chick-fil-A, the message is clear – if you speak out against us we will crush your business and make an example of you! Unfortunately, many will sit down and shut up, taking the position of least resistance and cowering in fear of the left. This is what the liberal left wants. That is how they hope to win. But we cannot be silent. We must stand up, speak up, and refuse to give up! Please join me in sending a message to the liberal left this Wednesday, August 1 and eating all the Chick-fil-A your budget will allow. While visiting your local Chick-fil-A, let management know how you feel about Mr. Cathy’s statements. This is our chance to show the liberal left that we will not allow conservative business owners to be sacrificed on the altar of political correctness; on Wednesday, August 1, visit your nearby Chick-fil-A and “eat more chicken!”

Trump Wins! Harris County Republicans Suffer Biggest Loss in History of the HCRP

Last night’s presidential results were historic. For the first time in decades, Republicans will have a uniquely consolidated power base, controlling the White House, Senate, and House, as well as a majority of governorships. As a result, we should be able to appoint conservative justices, eliminate Obamacare, get rid of the Johnson Amendment (which censures the church), cut the national debt, open up the energy markets, protect religious liberties, and so much more. As my friends at AFA stated, “We were about to go over the cliff. The knockout punch was about to be delivered to the America that our Founding Fathers handed to us.

Now It Is Your Time And Your Turn!

Now it is your time! Do you ever see destructive things going on around you and wish you had the ability and opportunity to stop them? Like when you hear the occurrence of some tragedy, do you ever wish that you could have been in the right place at the right time, to prevent it?

On Tuesday, November 3rd, you have an opportunity to do just that. If you live in the city of Houston, you will have the opportunity to vote NO to Proposition One, the “bathroom” or H.E.R.O. ordinance.

Contrary to the proponents of this ordinance, it has nothing to do with equal rights (which are already protected under federal and state law), but everything to do with promotion of sexual deviance in our society, in an effort for us to accept yet one more assault on our common sense and decency.

I May Know A Moderate, But Do I Trust A Moderate?

If you were to order pizza for dinner tonight, but the phone attendant taking your pizza order asked you if you wanted dark meat or white meat, or crispy or regular skin, what would you think? Perhaps you had dialed the wrong number?

You might feel similarly by reading the Republican Party platform and comparing it to the words and actions of so-called “Republicans”, from Harris County to Washington D.C.

Let’s take the City of Houston mayor’s race. We have two “Republican” candidates, Stephen Costello and Bill King.

Support Lance Berkman Vote “No” on Proposition 1 Bathroom Ordinance

Six time Major League Baseball All Star, Lance Berkman, recently took a bold principled stand in opposition to Houston Proposition 1 – The Bathroom Ordinance. The liberal left and LGBT community are attacking Lance Berkman for having the courage to stand on his principles. He needs our support.

Lance Berkman is getting bashed in the sports media because he exerted his First Amendment Right of Freedom of Speech by recording a radio commercial, opposing Houston’s Proposition 1, the Bathroom Ordinance. His commercial began airing this past Thursday. The Bathroom Ordinance would allow troubled men, who claim to be women, to enter women’s bathrooms, showers and locker rooms.

Houston City Council Is Legislating Immorality To Allow Boys Into The Girls Bathrooms and Showers

For many years we have all heard from both the Right leaning Democrats and the Left leaning Republicans that we cannot “legislate morality”. While for now I will not address the stupidity of this I would like to make a few points for you to ponder.

The City of Houston is trying to legislate morality, but in there their Godless hearts they will fist attempt to re-define “morality” before they legislate it so that it to include the sexually confused and the sexually perverted.

When you go to vote during early voting and on November third, and hopefully you will vote, the first thing you will see is Proposition one, also known as the HERO or “bathroom” ordnance.
